Baking soda, also known as sodium bicarbonate, has been a successful partner of wise mothers in getting the household chores done with so much ease. Its versatility to act as cleaning agent, odor neutralizer and extinguisher are some of the vital functions that we can benefit from it.
Below are only few of not-so-widely-known magic done by baking soda:
1. Used to prepare sports drink by mixing it with boiled water, salt and Kool-aid.
2. Used in place of toothpaste (though its taste is far from your favorite one) and mouthwash or even deodorant.
3. It can soothe discomfort of sunburn after a lukewarm bath treated with baking soda. Used to relieve bee stings and windburns.
4. Used to remove burned-on food in a pan.
5. Used to shine stainless steel and chrome.
