A veranda is smaller, under a roof on the side or front of the house and normally is enclosed by a railing. Perfect example would be this one..
While a terrace is usually located outdoor, mostly bigger and usually above ground level that typically has an open-top or facing the sky. According to Wikipedia, Terraces are highly versatile in terms of functionality and can be used for a variety of activities including, but not limited to: gardening, relaxation, entertaining guests, sunbathing, and barbecuing. Sometimes, there is a hot tub, jacuzzi, or a small swimming pool on terraces. There may also be an outdoor kitchen or a grill. Extra space adds value to the property.
I will definitely have both of this on my future dream home (but not as big as the terrace above). A veranda that has a little table and chairs for my afternoon siesta in front of the house and a bigger terrace on the second floor for little gatherings with family and friends.

I love the idea of a veranda just like the one in the photo. Mukhang comfy talaga maupo dyan pag hapon habang sip ng kape. Hihi.
